Jesus Christ died for sinners and rose again.
This is what makes strangers in this valley brothers and sisters, and it’s the reason for everything else here.
God made us, and we belong to him. No one in this valley is an accident.
All of us have turned away. The Bible calls that sin, and it puts real distance between us and God.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
Romans 3:23
God did not leave it there. He did not wait for us to clean ourselves up first.
“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
Jesus Christ, God’s Son, lived the life we have not lived and died the death we have earned. He was buried, and on the third day he rose.
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures”
1 Corinthians 15:3–4
It is a gift. It cannot be earned, and it does not have to be.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Ephesians 2:8–9
The invitation is to turn and trust. Turn from what you know is wrong, and trust that Jesus is who he said he was and did what he said he did.
“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9
